Me and My Puppet Family

Sharky, Miss Zue, and Toto

Miss Zue

Hello there,

I am so happy to introduce you to my new family of puppets!!

As most of you know I work with children in a nursery school in Westmount, Montreal. Being with kids has inspired me to become more imaginative in their world and do lots of fun things. One of them is making puppets. This summer Joan and I have begun to create them and I have to say we've been so lucky with how they turned out. Sharky I made for my husband because he loves sharks! I just love dogs so TOTO is like my Goofy or Pluto!! And Miss Zue... Oh she is so special and was born only 2 days ago. Inspired by the most colorful person I know... my friend Sue Brotherwood!!

Accompanied with a cup of tea, around 2 hrs and lots of love, my puppets are made with felt, yarn, pompoms, and glue gun. That's it! Each puppet I made I didn't use a pattern with; however, I do have a great book where I got lots of ideas and inspiration. It's called, "The Puppet Planet" by John Kennedy.

I remember when I was 13, I made a stuffed toy buffalo and a stuffed toy Soccerball in Home Ec class. That's also where I got the concept of how each piece goes together. It's a lot of brain work and trail and error.

Welcome to the world of my new hobby!!

Below are some of Joan's creations... oooh ah ah! :) Can you guess who they are inspired from?
